Terms & Conditions

The bits to know before placing an order

1. Placing an order

All orders are placed via the website order form, Instagram, or by email. An order is only confirmed once a deposit has been received and a confirmation message has been sent. Until then, dates and designs are not held.

2. Payment

Full payment is required upfront to secure your order and reserve your date. Your order is only confirmed once payment has been received in full and a confirmation message has been sent.

Payment is accepted by bank transfer. Details are sent with your order confirmation.

3. Cancellations & changes

Payments are non-refundable if you cancel your order, as ingredients, time and your slot are committed once payment has been received.

In the unlikely event that I am unable to fulfil your order (for example, due to illness or an emergency), a full refund will be provided.

Design changes can be requested up to 7 days before the collection date. After this point, only minor changes (such as the message on the cake) can be accommodated.

4. Allergens & ingredients

Under the Food Information (Scotland) Regulations 2014 and retained Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011, it is my responsibility as a food business to provide accurate allergen information for the 14 regulated allergens. These are: cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, brazils, pistachios, macadamia), celery, mustard, sesame, sulphur dioxide and sulphites, lupin, and molluscs.

Full ingredient and allergen information for your specific order will be provided in writing before payment is confirmed. If you have any allergy or intolerance, please tell me at the time of enquiry so I can confirm whether your order can be safely prepared.

Cross-contamination notice: All bakes are produced in a home kitchen that also handles wheat (gluten), eggs, milk, nuts, soya, sesame and sulphites. Whilst every reasonable care is taken to avoid cross-contamination, the kitchen is not a dedicated allergen-free environment. For this reason, bakes are not recommended for anyone with a severe or life-threatening allergy (anaphylaxis) to any of these ingredients.

No bake will be described as "free from" any allergen unless it can be guaranteed to be so.

5. Collection & care

Once a cake is collected (or handed to your courier), responsibility for its handling, storage and condition transfers to you. Cakes should be kept level, out of direct sunlight, and away from heat. Buttercream cakes should be kept cool. I'm always happy to give storage and transport advice on collection — please ask.

6. Photographs

I love sharing my bakes! By placing an order, you agree that I may photograph your finished cake and share images on Instagram, the website, and other marketing materials. Personal details and event details are never shared. If you'd prefer your bake not be shared publicly, please let me know at the time of ordering.

7. Issues & concerns

Your satisfaction matters. If you're unhappy with any aspect of your order, please get in touch within 24 hours of collection with photographs of the issue so it can be looked into. Refunds or remakes are considered on a case-by-case basis. Cakes that have been fully or partially consumed are not eligible for refund.

8. Contact

Any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch — see the Contact page for the easiest ways to reach me.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
